fibre composite
- Softboard
Softboards are generally used as insulating boards due to their thermal and acoustic properties. Softboards are manufactured under heat and pressure by using the "wet process", i.e. having a fibre moisture content of more than 20 % at the forming stage. They range in density from
≥ 230 kg/m³ to < 400 kg/m³.
By incorporating additives certain properties can be improved, e.g. fire resistance, moisture resistance.
